About Our Campaign
To fund all of our growth, MSM is undertaking a multi-year, multimillion-dollar comprehensive campaign called IMPACT: The World Needs What We Do Best.
This is not just about raising money for a school. This is about so much more.
It is about creating a pathway for underserved children to become medical professionals. It is about supporting learners who want to become doctors but cannot afford a medical education. It is about creating leaders who will help the underserved and, in turn, transform the entire medical system. It is about creating and disseminating new, proven models of care. It is about connecting to and creating healthier communities.
It is about improving — and saving — lives by making better access, quality, delivery, and equity in healthcare a reality for everyone.
Our plans and goals are audacious, but our track record is sound. Consider this: Gifts to this institution have rocketed up 167 percent during a four-year period. And we have one of the highest alumni giving rates among the nation’s medical schools.
We are not undertaking the effort alone. MSM has a distinguished list of Campaign Council volunteers, donors, consultants, community advocates, and friends providing input and guidance as we focus on five areas in which MSM excels: our Education, Pipeline Programs, Research Excellence, Clinical Innovation, and Community Service.
Currently, funding for MSM comes from several streams, including operations, private partnerships, revenue growth and diversification, state investment, and gifts. The last source on that list remains a crucial one. Given today’s complex and challenging environment for health sciences education, it is vitally important that we continue to expand the number of individual, corporate, and foundation donors and increase the level of contributions in support of our urgent purpose.
